Vesper Peak Bivy

Vesper Peak is situated opposite of Mt. Dickerman (photos in previous post) just off of the Mountain Loop Highway, between Darrington and Granite Falls. Recently, I got a 36 hour block of fine weather and solid snow to check it out.

Now here was an interesting stream crossing...

KW on the approach. The avalanche debris from a long snowy winter abound.

KW in the icy chute to Headlee Pass.

MWF hangs out with about a vertical mile of exposure below the summit(not our climbing route!).

Here's a set with Mt. Pilchuck and Puget Sound in the distance.

Pick your favorite color... summertime haze in the high country.

Hey, that's where I slept last night!
Morning rays with Glacier Peak, Sloan, and the Monte Cristo group in the background.

So have you sent your resume and photos to National Geographic yet? I'm sure they have a paycheck for you:)
